Mustangs, Theo & Elu grew up on an Indian Reservation in the western United States. The wild horses living on the reservation are rounded up periodically and sent off to auction. This was the unfortunate fate for 14 mares and foals. The moms were sold to a slaughter buyer and all 14 babies were left alone, scared, confused, and now without their pillar of life. KHAS worked with 2 other sanctuaries to ensure the 14 foals did not have the same outcome as their once devoted mothers. Theo and Elu were saved from a slaughter auction in TX and made their journey to KHAS for some much needed love and care. Once roaming wild and free, we are thankful we can show these American Treasures how to trust in humans that are committed to their safety.
