Meet Mavis! This sweet kitten was found alone, cold, and wet in the woods without a mom or any siblings in sight. At roughly 3 weeks old, she was experiencing severe emotional trauma, was covered in fleas, and in desperate need of a savior. Under veterinary guidance, we were able to safely remove all her fleas through daily baths and multiple flea combing sessions. Due to her age, she was unable to receive flea treatments that are only approved for use in cats over 8 weeks of age. She was treated for parasites, started on a proper nutrition program, and was safely being introduced to people and learning how to trust these new humans that were working diligently to improve her overall wellbeing. Now, at roughly 7 month old, Mavis is growing into a lovely, sweet, playful, charming girl that seeks out attention, loves to play, and enjoys napping in the sun. KHAS is thankful that we were able to nurse this beautiful little lady back to a healthy and happy kitten.
