Dakota, born in 2004, is a sweet, kind crossbred mare that loves to have friends! Her pasture mate passed away in May 2024, which left Dakota lonely and distraught. She ran away from her home, desperate to find another friend. She went over one mile, through the woods, and swam across a pond to a neighboring farm that had other horses. 

The neighboring farm owner was already at capacity and was unable to keep her long-term. They contacted KHAS to give her a happy ending and a place full of other equine friends!

Right away, we knew she was a sweet soul searching for love, attention, and companionship. Luckily, she found her new fairy tale ending at the same farm that Teddy also calls home! She has made best friends with another mare at the farm named Midnight and could not be happier!!
